Holy Names University freshman Clara Sedman had the game-winning goal in the Hawks' 1-0 win over Menlo College to win the California Pacific Conference championship and was selected as the California Pacific Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the dates of October 31st through November 6th, 2011.

Women's Soccer Name Cal Pac Champs
Holy Names University took in Menlo College in their final Cal Pac Conference Match of the 2011 season. Today was defiantly a day that the team, the fans and the University will not forget.In addition to celebrating the seniors in a special ceremony prior to the game, the Hawks clinched the Cal Pac Championship with less than a minute of play in the second period.

Two Wins in the South
Coach Lusson provided the women's soccer team with words of encouragement prior to their departure south last Friday. Coach Lusson reminded them that this trip was a chance to turn their season around. Together the team worked to pull off two wins; one against Soka University of America and another against Marymount College.

Remembering Joplin
Last spring the disastrous tornado that whipped thru Joplin, Missouri took lives and destroyed the structures of a community. Since the storm citizens continue to put together the pieces of what was lost. The St. Mary's Elementary School, a member of the Joplin Area Catholic Schools was demolished. In an effort to lend support Holy Names University's Men's and Women's Soccer programs donated a gift of soccer balls.

Hawks to Participate in "Kick it to Cancer"
This fall, teams from around the country will be participating in the "Kick it to Cancer" Campaign with the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR). High School and College teams will be promoting health education in the community as well as raising funds to help eradicate cancer.
