The Hawks fell to California Baptist University 67-90. The Hawks will leave Notre Dame de Namur's Tournament 0-2.

Oakland, CA- Holy Names University senior Danika Potestio averaged 14.5 points in the Hawks 1-1 week and was selected as the California Pacific Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the dates of October 31st through November 6th, 2011.

Holy Names kicked-off their first official 2011-12 home game at Holy Names University's Tip-Off Tournament against the College of Idaho. Holy Names stood their ground throughout the competition winning 83-76.

Coach Turner Scores her First Collegiate Win on the Road
Coach Catherria Turner took her team to Oregon last weekend to compete in Southern Oregon University's Basketball Tournament. Although the team came up short in their first two gamesit was their third competition that pushed the Hawks to a victory and earned new Head Coach, Catherria Turner her first win as a collegiate head coach. The women traveled back from Oregon with a1-2 record.

Defending California Pacific Conference champion Holy Names University received five first places votes and 35 points in route to capturing the 2011-2012 California Pacific Conference women's basketball coaches' poll. The Hawks took 35 out of a possible 126 points.

The NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll, was announced by the national office on Monday. HNU's women's basketball team recieved 47 votes finiding themselves only 19 points out of the top 25.

Holy Names Men's and Women's Basketball will begin their conference schedule this week. Coach Catherria Turner and Coach Omar Sanchez are both eager to reclaim Holy Names' California Pacific Conference championship titles in their first year as head coaches.
