Hawks finish season with extra-inning victory, 7-4 over Dominican
KENTFIELD, Calif. – The Holy Names University Softball squad split a doubleheader Saturday against Dominican University of California to finish the 2013 season. The Hawks fell 8-0 in game one, played in six innings, while winning 7-4 in the season finale, played in eight innings. Both games were played at College of Marin. HNU finished the season 16-40, with a Pacific West Conference record of 10-22.

Martinez and Fairclough Selected to the Unaffiliated All-Conference Team
The Unaffiliated Group All-Conference Team was released today. The list pulled the top 18 athletes from the Golden State, Frontier, and California Pacific Athletic Conferences. Two Holy Names' seniors were named to the group, catcher, Rachael Martinez and pitcher, Stephani Fairclough.

Snider and Parodi Recieve Academic Honors
Over 4,000 student-athletes representing 707 different academic institutions were named as a 2011 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar Athlete, the Association announced Thursday. Two of these women were Holy Names' student athletes, senior Lacey Parodi and junior Allison Snider.

Thuer will Guide the Hawks
After four seasons Holy Names University's softball program will have a new head coach, Lisa R. Thuer a native of St. Louis, Missouri was recently hired by the Director of Athletics, Dennis Jones. Thuer replaces Melanie Gregor, who had been with the team four consecutive seasons leading them to two NAIA national appearances since their inaugural season in 2008.

Hawks Sweep Lions
The Hawks traveled to Tucson, Arizona to compete in the Tucson Invitational Games, Home of Collegiate Spring Training. The Hawks met up with Hope International University's Lions for a two bill match-up. HNU swept the Lions giving up only two runs in both games.
