
Marcos Gomez enters his second year as the men's and women's cross country assistant coach at Holy Names University. Gomez brings a great deal of running experience with personal records from the mile, all the way to the marathon.
Gomez started running in middle school, where he went onto win the championships middle school mile. While in high school at Dublin High, Gomez won the leagues championship title for cross country, and contributed to his team winning the team title, going undefeated and making it to state. After a successful high school running experience Gomez attended Chabot and Las Positas Community College where he placed as all league individual for 2 years, he then transferred over to California State University East Bay where he continued being a victorious student-athlete. While at East Bay Gomez earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. While studying and training hard Gomez went onto placing 3rd overall at the Cal Pac Conference Championships. That year Gomez was awarded as CSU East Bay 2008 sports athlete of the year. In 2009 after finishing with school Gomez ran his first half marathon in San Jose placing 26th overall in a time of 1:12:48 a personal record in which Gomez is truly proud of.
Gomez is currently working on his Master's in Business Administration with focus in Finance and hopes to grow his business.
