Holy Names Athletic Facilities
The Holy Names campus is located in
the Oakland hills and offers an amazing view of the East
Bay. Although the campus is land-locked, HNU has
developed comprehensive, long-standing lease arrangements with
thriving East Bay community entities to provide its
student-athletes and guests with access to quality facilities
near campus. These facilities offer a comfortable and entertaining
environment for all throughout the heart of the East Bay. Below
please find a list of HNU facilities complete with addresses. We

Tobin Gymnasium- Oakland, CA
Home of Hawk Basketball & Volleyball
Tobin Gym, located on the Holy Names University campus, is the home for HNU Volleyball and Basketball. The facility includes seating for three hundred spectators, a fitness center, team rooms athletic training room, swimming pool, and locker rooms (please see below for more information about facility availability). Merritt College Stadium- Oakland, CA
Home of the Holy Names Soccer & Tennis Programs
The Merritt College athletics stadium, located a few miles from the HNU campus, is the home for HNU Soccer. The facility includes seating for seventeen hundred spectators, a state of the art Mondo track, and a fully computerized scoreboard and electronic timing system. Merritt College is located at 12500 Campus Dr., Oakland, CA 94619.
Thrasher Park- San Leandro, CA
Home of the HNU Softball Squad
Thrasher Park, located in San Leandro, CA - 8 miles from the HNU campus, is the home for HNU Softball. The facility includes seating for 500 hundred spectators, lights for evening games, portable home run fence, electric score board, sound system, and ample parking. Thrasher Park is located in San Leandro, CA.
Chuck Corica Golf Complex- Alameda, CA
Home of the HNU Men's Golf Team
The Earl Fry Golf Course was originally designed by William Park Bell in 1929 also known as the Alameda Golf Course. It was partially redesigned by Desmond Muirhead in 1967. This parkland course features tree lined fairways, lush greens and water in play on 13 holes. The course is about a 15 minutes drive from campus.
Laney College's Field of Dreams- Oakland, CA
Home of Hawk Baseball
Laney College's Field of Dreams is located in dynamic downtown Oakland at 900 Fallon Street, Oakland, CA 94607. The playing facility comes equipped with public restrooms, locker rooms, and batting facilities.

General Admission is $5.00
Students (with College ID) are $2.00
Youth (age 12 to 18) are $2.00
HNU Students, Fac, & Staff are FREE
Children under 12 are FREE
Edie Hawkins Health and Fitness Center
The Holy Names University Edie Hawkins Fitness Center is located in Tobin Gymnasium on the Holy Names campus. Featured are two treadmills, five stationary bikes, two stair masters, five elliptical machines, 18 machine weight stations, and a complete line of free weight equipment.
The Fitness Center is free to university students, staff and faculty with identification. Each staff, faculty and student is allowed one guest. This guest must be with you at all times. Due to class schedules and athletic practice schedules, availability may be limited at certain times. Please email the Associate Director of Athletics, Cesar Cardenas at email@example.com to verify times. Anyone utilizing the facilities must have a valid HNU ID card, have proper workout attire, and bring their own towel to use the Fitness Center.

Friday: 8:00am - 8:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am - 8:00pm
Sunday: 12:00pm - 10:00pm
Please be advised that the fitness center will be closed during evening HNU athletic events. Please visit the HNU Athletic homepage at http://www.hnuhawks.com to view dates and times of these events. Also, fitness center closes during school holidays, and hours change during winter and summer breaks.
Holy Names Aquatics Facilities
Holy Names University's pool has Open Swim daily (August-November, April-June) for HNU students, faculty and staff. HNU also has outside organizations that use the pool during the course of any given week during the year, as well. HNU's pool is 25 yards, with six-lanes, at a consistent temperature of 78-80 degrees Fahrenheit and an increasing depth of 4' to 11'. The pool is used for competitive meets, as well as team practices. The following are some of the groups that utilize HNU's pool:
