Nick Lusson - Head Coach - 4th Season

Coach Lusson enters his fourth year as the Head Coach for the HNU Women's Soccer Team. Originally from central Ohio where he grew up playing the game, he then went on to attend college at UC Santa Cruz and played for the men's soccer team for three seasons. Traveling abroad in his junior year to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Nick gained valuable experience playing in the second division there and was exposed to the vibrant beach soccer scene along the coasts. He finished university with a degree in Global Economics from UCSC and went on to play for several pro-am men's soccer teams both in California and the Midwest before turning to coaching full-time.

 

Coach Lusson has been coaching for over 17 years and has worked with a large number of youth soccer clubs and high school programs. He's previously worked as a staff coach at both Pleasanton Rage and Mustang SC, both nationally-ranked youth clubs from the Bay Area. He was the head girl's coach at Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, CA where he led the team to NCS play-offs in both his seasons there and built a top-ranked program in Northern California.

 

He currently works as an Olympic Development Program State Assistant Coach and as a coaching educator for California Youth Soccer. Currently, he is the Technical Director of the Dublin United Soccer League; a certified trainer for the Positive Coaching Alliance; and is highly active in the operations of several local tournaments and soccer camps. Coach Lusson holds a USSF "A" License, NSCAA Premier Diploma, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, and the NSCAA Level 1 Goalkeeping Diploma. He also holds a Masters of Arts in Sport Psychology, as well as Master's Certificates in both Sport Management and Exercise & Sport Performance, all from JFK University of Pleasant Hill.

 

 

 

Nemanja Colovic Image
Nemanja Colovic - Grad Assistant - 2nd Season

Nemanja Colovic, native of Serbia, is in his second year as the Goalkeeper Coach for the HNU Women's Soccer Team.


Coach Colovic transferred to HNU from University of Bridgeport, Connecticut in 2007 and played for HNU Men's Soccer team until 2010. Nemanja is a recent graduate of HNU; he graduated last May with a BA in International Relations and Political Science.


During those three years at HNU, he won 3 conference titles, had 1 regional championship and 2 national championship appearances.


Coach Colovic holds NSCAA Level 1 (Regional), 2 (State) and 3 (National) Goalkeeping Diplomas. He is currently studying for an MBA with two concentrations: Energy and Environment Management & Business Management and Leadership.


Coach Colovic resides in Oakland, CA.


 

Lynsey Musante Image
Lynsey Musante - Grad Assistant - 3rd Season

Lynsey Musante, a native of Walnut Creek California, played for Las Lomas High School. She then attended and played at Holy Names University for four years graduating with a degree in Liberal Studies in 2009.

 

Lynsey has a CYSA "E" license and is currently a trainer for the Dublin United Soccer League. She also is the Assistant Coach for the Las Lomas Varsity soccer team.

 

Lynsey is currently pursuing her teaching credential and Masters in Urban Education at Holy Names University.

 

 

Tanya Roberts Image
Tanya Roberts - Grad Assistant - 3rd Season

Tanya Roberts is entering her third season as the Graduate Assistant Coach at Holy Names University. Roberts is involved with all aspects of the program including training, recruiting and managing the day to day tasks in the office.

 

Roberts currently serves as a head coach and trainer for Dublin United Soccer league and also serves as head coach of the Las Lomas High School girl's varsity team. Before joining the Holy Names staff, Roberts served as the Volunteer Assistant Coach at Saint Mary's College for the 2008 season and also served as a trainer for F.C. Fremont.

 

A former stand-out at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Roberts left her mark in the UNLV record books as she graduated as the program's all-time leader in career games played with 83, in 2006, and lead her team to three consecutive Mountain West Conference league titles as well as three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.  The midfielder was named All-MWC twice, All-Western Region once and was selected as the MWC Tournament MVP in her senior season.

 

Roberts spent time playing with several teams in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) such as the Las Vegas Tabagators, Rush Salt Lake and the Adirondack Lynx.

 

Roberts graduated from UNLV with a B.S. in Physical Education with a minor in Coaching. She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Urban Education at Holy Names and holds a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma as well as a USSF ‘D' License. A native of Fremont, Calif., Roberts currently resides in Oakland, Calif.
