Dwight Combs - Head Coach - 4th Season
A graduate of California State University, Sacramento, holding a B.S. in Physical Education with an emphasis in Exercise Science coach Combs is enter his 4th year heading both the men's & women's volleyball programs. Prior to coming to Holy Names he was the head men's and women's coach at Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, CA from 2000-2008.
During his tenure as an assistant and head coach at Los Medanos the Mustangs won 3 conference titles (2-men, 1-women). During his time at LMC Dwight acted as Club Director (2004-2008) and head coach (2000-2008) for East Bay Jrs. volleyball club, were two of his teams qualified for Junior Nationals. Coach Combs has led the Women's Volleyball program to consecutive Cal-Pac Championships, going undefeated in the Cal-Pac in 2010 and 2011. The Hawks have improved in standing and record in every season since his arrival at HNU, posting a 44-7 record in the Cal-Pac over four seasons. He was named Cal-Pac Conference Coach of the Year is 2010 and 2011.
During his 4 year tenure at HNU the Hawks have had 15 All- Conference selections, including Two Conference player of the year awards, two libero of the year awards, one new comer of the year award, and one freshman of the year award. An east bay native, coach Combs lives in Walnut Creek CA, and coaches club for Nor-Cal VBC.
