Oakland, CA - The California Pacific Conference Women's Volleyball All-Conference team was announced Wednesday, November 11, 2009.
On this was four Hawks and three others represented in the honorable mention team. Junior Rebecca Chase would receive the award for Newcomer of the Year and Ashley Nickell would be the only Hawk to make the first team. On the second team Rebecca Chase and Kayla Coleman would lead the list and Kendra Vasquez, Ariel Carmichael, and Britney Silvia would round up the honorable mention.
Newcomer of the year junior Rebecca Chase would finish the regular season with 207kills on 515 attempts (2nd on Team), 230 assists (2nd on Team), and 136 digs (5th on Team). First team all conference sophomore Ashley Nickell would finish the year with 305 kills on 826 attempts (1st on Team), 36 service aces (1st on Team), and 245 digs (2nd on Team).
For the honorable mentioned juniors, Ariel Carmichael and Britney Silvia they combined for 269 kills on 826 attempts. Senior Kendra Vasquez would lead the team in blocks with 81 on the year. Congratulation goes out to these Hawks who have worked so hard to make their team better.
They will play Menlo College on November 14, 2009 for the California Pacific Conference Tournament Championship. Winner of tournament receives a bid to the NAIA Volleyball National Championships in Sioux City, IA.
