Hawks take control and never let down in the 50 minute match win over Cal State Monterey Bay 
The Men's Volleyball team was victorious in their home opener against Cal State Monterey Bay for their 2012 season. The Hawks traveled to Denver, Colorado last week to face off Air Force Academy and Johnson and Wales. Hawks came home to the bay and into the match with a 2-0 record in conference play. The Hawks' chemistry, hard work, dedication and confidence definitely showed when they beat the Otters in just 50 minutes. Holy Names University was even able to keep CSMB under 13 points in the 3 game match (25-13, 25-12, 25-6).
 
 The Otters were led by Peter Morrow with 4 kills while their Setter Diego Padilla led the team with 12 assists. Also leading the Otters in kills was Matthew McGrady and Tanner VanMeter with 3 apiece.

  Leading the Hawks was Junior, middle blocker, Trevor Parker with 10 kills and 2 blocks. Senior, outside hitter, James Holloway also dominated with 8 kills and 3 aces. Setter Nick Kalustian had a stand out game with 28 assists, 3 aces and 2 blocks. HNU holds a 3-1 record and will now take on Cal Poly Pomona. This battle will take place on January 21stat 2:00pm in the Tobin Gym. We hope the Hawks will continue to soar over their competition! Come support your Hawks!!
