Los Angeles, CA- Men's Soccer Associate Head Coach, Ivan Kepcija traveled to Los Angeles, California last week to participate in the U.S. National Instructors Workshop. The workshop was held at the Home Depot Center, hosted by US Soccer Federation.

The workshop provides an intensive seminar for national licensed instructors (highest licenses in the US, A and B). From December 11th thru the 15th coaches were able to engage in programs designed to deepen their understanding of technique and theory, helping them to further their knowledge and competence.
Coach Kepcija stated, "I was able to attend as an assistant to a guest from the Croatian Football Federation and a UEFA Technical Instructor, Mr. Romeo Jozak. Mr. Jozak has been a guest lecturer alongside Mr. Dick Bate, from the English FA."
Other participants included - men's and women's national team coaches and staff, such as Anthony Latronica, legend of US soccer Hugo Perez, John Hackworth of Philadelphia Union, current assistant to Jurgen Klinsmann, Carlos Suarez, long-time UW coach Dean Wurzberger, Jay Miller and many others - most of them technical directors of states across the country or national team staff.
The instructors worked with each participant helping them to become more effective in their coaching.
Kepcija is thankful to have had the opportunity. "It was a privilege to be able to learn from the top coaches in the country and exchange ideas about soccer and future trends in the game" said Kecija.
Coach Kepcija has been coaching with the Holy Names' soccer program since 2007.
An HNU alumni, Kepcija graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2007 and currently holds a Master of Arts in Sport Science from St. Mary's University.
While at HNU he was the recipient of NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete award in 2006 and 2007 and helped lead his team to one conference title and two regional championship appearances. He played semi-professionally in the 2nd and 3rd Croatian national soccer league for several years.
