The NAIA has announced the 2011 men's and women's soccer All-American teams were announced recently and four soccer players from the California Pacific Conference were honored.
On the men's side, three players made the All-American honorable mention team. California Pacific Conference champion Menlo College had two representatives make the honorable mention list in conference Player of the Year Alex Palomares and Sam Zipperstein. Palomares lead the Oaks in saves with 4.5 per game and lead the conference with eight shutouts. Zipperstein lead the conference in assists per match with .65. The Oaks finished their season 13-4-1 overall and 10-0 in conference play. They concluded their season in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round in a 1-0 loss to Southern Polytechnic State University in overtime. Holy Names University had one representative make the honorable mention team as well in senior Jesus Hernandez. The Hawks finished with a 10-6 overall record and an 8-2 record in conference play, finishing second.
On the women's side, William Jessup University's Jacque Cassell, the California Pacific Conference Player of the Year, made the honorable mention list. Cassell lead the Warriors in goals with 8. The Warriors finished with an 11-7 overall record and 5-1 in conference play, finishing tied for first.
