Redding, Ca - The Hawks traveled to Redding to take on the Red Hawks of Simpson University on Wednesday October 7th looking to stay undefeated in Conference play and undefeated the Hawks remain after winning 3-1.
The Hawks played a great game vs. Simpson dominating and maintaining possession throughout the whole game regardless of the physical play by Simpson. The Hawks had some great chances in the first half, but nothing in the goal, leaving the first half tied 0-0.
In the second half the Hawks got on the board two minutes into the half. The goal was scored by Erica Udelll assisted by Brittanie Perez who made a pass on the ground to the top of the eighteen where Udell finished with a low driven ball right past the Simpson Keeper. The Hawks got their second goal of the game in the 84th minute by Nikol Molano, once again Perez with the assist. Perez passed through the Simpson defense where Molano took on one of the Simpson defenders, beating them and having a shot to the far post corner. The Hawks didn't stop there, a minute later the Hawks Monique Reyes challenged the Simpson goal keeper as she was about to kick it out to her defensive line, won it, and had a shot making the score 3-0. Simpson came back in the 86th minute, only a minute after Reyes' goal, scoring off a cross making the ending score 3-1.
The Hawks were victorious and remain in first place in their conference.
The Hawks next game will be against William Jessup on Saturday October 17th at 11am at Merritt College, come cheer them on to another victory!!
