Oakland, CA- Hawks' Head Softball Coach, Lisa R. Thuer signed junior transfer, Veronica Perry early this August. Veronica Perry joins the Hawks squad from Modesto Junior College. 
"Veronica has solid talent. She is going produce for the team both offensively and defensively. She carries a strong work ethic that will help her excel both academically and athletically," stated Coach Thuer.
 
 Perry competed with the Modesto Junior College Pirates for two years prior to joining HNU. While there she was awarded several honors including; the Pirate Award (2011) and Most Improved Player (2010). She attended Gustine High School while there she received 1st Team All-League (2007 &2008), Western Athletic Conference SAL Honorable Mention (2005), Offensive Player of the Year (2005), MVP (2007), Best Defensive Player (2008). Perry was also a member of the basketball and volleyball squads.
 
 Veronica also gave back to her community helping with community functions at Our Lady of Miracles Church in Gustine. Perry is thrilled to continue her education at Holy Names University where she plans to major in Sports Management.
 
"I look forward to continuing my education at HNU. I hope to work hard academically while playing with the team," stated Perry. Veronica is the daughter of Benjamin and Barbara Perry of Gustine.
 
Veronica hopes to provide sports management for a professional sports team after graduation.
