OAKLAND, CA- Holy Names University announces the signings of Britt Miller for the upcoming 2011-12 school year. Miller is a graduate of Big Valley Christian High in Modesto, CA. Miller had connections to Holy Names prior to committing. Her high school coach, Geral Lowe is an HNU graduate and former standout men's basketball player and her brother, Mike McElroy currently competes on the men's basketball team.
Miller joins the Hawks having earned several athletic accomplishments. Miller currently holds the record for points scored at her high school. She was named 2nd Team All League her 10th grade year and 1st Team All League her 11th and 12th grade years. She holds three Coaches Awards and was awarded MVP her senior year. Former Head Women's Basketball, Steve Spencer stated, "Holy Names is very excited to add Britney Miller to our campus community and women's basketball program. She comes highly recommended as not only just a great athlete but a phenomenal person with great work ethic, integrity and leadership ability. She always wanted to come to Holy Names and it was an easy decision to bring her in. She will bring a lot to our campus and program."Holy Names looks forward to working with Britt as she continues her education and her athletic career.
Ms. Miller is a member of the National Honors Society and plans to major in sociology.
