Turlock, CA - Amidst very tough competition and a field of 20 teams, Holy Names manages to finish 5th overall and Edman leads the way finishing 3rd overall.
The Hanny Stanislaus Invitational featured 7 of the top 25 NCAA Division II teams. Teams included #1 Chico State, #5 Western Washington University, #12 CSU, Monterey Bay, #16, CSU-Stanislaus, #24 Grand Canyon University, #25 Dixie State.
The Hawks would place 4th in the Invitational, only behind Chico State, CSU-Stanislaus, and CSU-Monterey Bay.
Scott Yeakel and Kenny Pigman from CSU-Monterey Bay finished first and second respectively. Yeakel would finish with a total score of 209 (69, 72, 68), and Pigman would be two strokes behind with a total score of 211 (67, 68, 76).
Stephen Edman would finish tied for 3rd with a total score of 213 (75, 69, 69). This is Edman's second consecutive top finish for the Hawks.
The next best finish for the Hawks in this field of 105 players was senior Shane Conner who finished 34th overall and second for the Hawks with a score of 226 (74, 74, 78). Austin Fink (229 - 74, 78, 77) finished third for the Hawks and 52 overall and Nick Hawkes and Trevor Jones finished 4th and 5th for the Hawks and both tied for 68th overall.
This concludes the Hawks' regular season and they now go on to prepare for regionals which start on April 17th.
