Redding, CA - The Hawks travelled to Redding tonight to take on the Red Hawks of Simpson University. The Hawks were looking to make it three in a row. From the start the Hawks looked to be dominant, and dominant they continued as they sweep the Red Hawks. The Hawks won 25-18, 25-15, and 25-18.
The Hawks were lead by junior Britney Silva with 9 kills on 21 attempts and 8 digs. Also chipping in were sophomore Ashley Nickell and junior Ariel Carmichael 8 kills each on 20 and 26 attempts respectively. Junior Natalie Kasbarian also contributed a stellar performance adding 15 assist and 14 digs. The Hawks drove to Redding to play Simpson today. Holy Names University winning the first game with only a few points left, have a player; Michelle Myers come down from a block and step on a players foot. She was out for the rest of the match. The Hawks finish the first game with a score of 25-18 and bringing their momentum to the second game winning 25-15. In the third game the Hawks losing 10-18, come back to finish the match 25-19. Brittany Silvia led the team with 9 kills, Ariel Carmichael and Ashley Nickell each with 8. Natalie Kasbarian lead the setting with 15 assists.
The Hawks travel to Belmont on October 7th to battle the Argonauts of Notre Dame de Namur at 7:00pm. Come out and support your Hawks.
