Oakland, Ca - The Hawks took on the Cyclones of Mills College today and walked off with a 5-0 win! The Hawks played a great game of possession out shooting the Cyclones 34 to 4.
Nikol Molano had the first goal of the game on a breakaway after receiving a pass through the defensive line from Brittanie Perez. Perez then went on to get a goal for herself when the referee called a foul on the Cyclones defense in the box giving the Hawks a penalty kick. The third goal came with only a few minutes left in the first half by defender Linda Wik Fors off an excellent pass by Bitta Sadeghy. Sadeghy dribbled to the endline bypassing the Cyclone defense, and crossed the ball to the far post where Wik Fors was waiting to finish it into the back of the net.

The Hawks stepped out for the second half determined to put the game away with a shutout. The Hawks defense did a great job shutting down the Mills offense, allowing for more time to attack. Victoria Albaracin scored the fourth goal off a cross from Monique Reyes. Reyes had a cross from the left side after beating two defenders when Albaracin came out of nowhere to finish the ball in the back of the net from outside the eighteen-yard box. The last goal of the game came off the head of Sabel Maguire. Brittanie North planted the perfect corner kick right onto the head of Maguire who launched the ball to the top right corner of the goal.

The Hawks look to continue their winning streak on Wednesday October 7th as they will take on Simpson University at 1:00pm on Simpson's home turf in Redding, Ca. Good Luck Hawks!
