Oakland, CA - Holy Names University junior Ashley Nickell was selected as the California Pacific Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the dates of September 21st through 27th, 2010.

The Modesto, California native had 27 kills and 30 digs in a 2-0 weekend for the Hawks. The Hawks won 3-1 over Bethany University in Scotts Valley and then won 3-2 over Menlo College in Atherton in a rematch of last year's California Pacific Conference championship match.

Holy Names University has three matches this week. On Tuesday, the Hawks will play a non conference match versus UC Santa Cruz in Santa Cruz. The Hawks will then continue their 2010 California Pacific Conference schedule Friday as they take on Mills College and Saturday as they take on Simpson University. Both of those matches will be in Oakland.
