Oakland, CA - The Hawks faced a rival that now is no longer in our conference, but don't tell that to the players.  The Hawks came out winning the first two games and at the start of game three you would have thought the Hawks would seal the deal and send the Penguins packing, but the penguins fought back hard winning the remaining three games.
The scores were 25-23, 25-20, 21-25, 22-25, and 9-15. A disappointing loss for the Hawks.
 
Ashley Nickell led the Hawks with 13 kills, Kendra Vasquez 10 kills, and Ariel Carmichael 9 kills. Mariah Christensen had 29 assists.

Still in pre-season, Holy Names University has 2 wins, and a chance for one more September 18th against UC Santa Cruz.
