Dublin, Ca - Holy Names opened their first home game of the season against the Southern Oregon Raiders. Although the game was filled with plenty of actions, both teams failed to score resulting in a tied game.
The Hawks came out ready to defend their 2009 conference title in their early evening Sunday game against the Raiders of Souther Oregon University. They were hungry for their first home game and anxious to close it out with a win.

The first half proved tough for both Holy Names and Southern Oregon. Both teams played excellent defense making it hard for both teams to attempt shots at the goal. Combined with strategic defense and plenty of exciting goalie saves, both teams ended the first half eager to regain focus and push for that winning goal in the second half.

The Hawks ended with 10 shot attempts, 7 being at the goal while the Raiders had 6 shot attempts, 3 attempted at the goal.

The second half proved to be no different for both the Hawks and the Raiders. Both teams struggled to push the ball up field far enough to be in good scoring range. With being unable to push the ball, both teams grew stagnant in scoring a goal. As the 2nd half ended, it went into overtime with sudden death. Both teams were unable to close the game out and the game ended with a tie.

The Hawks are going on the road for their next game against Concordia University in Portland, Oregon.  This is a rematch of last year's first round national tournament game.  The Hawks look to redeem their loss to the Caveliers.  Game time is 12:00 PM on the 10th  of September.
