Ashland, OR - The Hawks travel to Oregon to take on a tough Raiders' Southern Oregon University team. After keeping the games close, the Raiders were able to pull out each game, defeating the Hawks in three games: 20-25, 17-25, 19-25.

The Hawks would start game one down 2-0 after a service ace by Raiders' Sarah Holgen. But HNU would respond with a 2-0 run of their own, after a counter service ace by junior OH Ashley Nickell. Subsequently, the Raiders would go on a 5-1 run and increase their lead to 7-3. The Raiders would not look back as the Hawks would try to gain ground, and would cut the lead to 5 at 20-15. The Raiders closed the match 25-20.

In the 2nd set the Raiders would once again jump out, this time to a 4-1 lead. Holy Names would close the gap at 9-6 after a kill by freshman middle Rachel Vartanian. The Hawks would continue to attack and with back to back kills by Ashley Nickell the Hawks cut the lead to 2 at 10-8. The Raiders would continually respond to any run the Hawks had in this set and after exchanging points, the Hawks would fall behind 19-11. Holy Names would make efforts to chip away at the lead, but it was too late as the Raiders take game 2 25-17.

The Hawks would respond in game three, keep the game close throughout the match. Despite hitting -.026, the Hawks tried to stay with the Raiders. A kill by Rebecca Chase and a pair of unforced SOU errors helped Holy Names take a 12-11 lead. Holy Names then cut a Raider advantage to 18-16 on a kill by Britany Silvia, but it was all SOU after that. Southern Oregon pulls away and finishes the game on a 9-4 running, taking the sweep and match from the Hawks at 25-19.

Leading the way for Holy Names was senior outside/setter Rebecca Chase, who on the night finished with 6 kills, 5 assist, and 2 digs. Four other Hawks shared in kills with a total of five each. These Hawks include Rachel Vartanian, Samantha Miller, Cheyenne Hambey, and Ashley Nickell.

Notably, setters Natalie Kasbarian and Mariah Christensen also chipped in with 20 total assist on the night. In the back row, Kayla Coleman was able to dig a team high 13 digs.
