Junior Stephen Edman and Senior Garrett True Were Named NAIA All-Americans
Kansas City, MO. - On Monday the NAIA released the 2010 Men's Golf All-American teams and for the first time in school history, HNU had two golfers on the list. Senior Garrett True and Junior Stephen Edman became the 2nd and 3rd HNU golfers to be added to the list of All-Americans.

"This is a great day for the program," said coach Greg Hutton. "Earlier this morning the team got to meet with the board of trustees, and later in the afternoon I got to call Garrett on his way home for the summer and give him the news."

True, a senior from Corona, CA had perhaps the most successful year individually in program history earning first-team All-American honors. Finishing the year with a stroke average of just above 73, True competed in 16 events playing more than forty rounds of golf. Never finishing higher than 20th, Garrett earned medalist honors at the CBU Spring Break Intercollegiate featuring a field that included a number of members named to the 2010 All-American team. Along with a runner up finish at the NAIA regional qualifier, True finished his college career earning a sixth place finish at the NAIA National Championship earning all tournament honors. "Garrett really deserves this," said coach Hutton. "His work ethic, determination and self belief are the reason he had such a great year. Hopefully Garrett has set an example to follow for other members of the team."

Edman, a junior from Canyon Lakes, CA earned 2nd team All-American honors after battling back from a mid-season injury that sidelined him for more than a month. Competing in twelve events, Edman had a stroke average of just less than 73, earning medalist honors in multiple events. "If it weren't for his injury, I think Stephen would have been named as a first team All-American. " said coach Hutton. "If Stephen stays healthy and works hard he can be the best player in the NAIA in 2011."

"I'm very proud of every member of the team who contributed to our achievements this season. It has been a great year and today's announcement validates what this team was all about."
