Oakland, CA - Holy Names sophomore point guard Lesley Vodicska was named to the 2010 NAIA All-American 3rd Team as announced by the NAIA this past Tuesday evening at the NAIA National Championship game. Vodicska, the 2010 Cal Pac Player of the Year, helped lead her team to a 23-10 record including a perfect 12-0 in Cal Pac play.
The Hawks also won their 3rd straight Cal Pac Regular Season and Tournament Championships and made their 11th overall appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. Holy Names lost in the first round at the tournament to Briar Cliff (IA) by the score of 87-65. In that game Vodicska recorded 19 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals.
Vodicska started all 33 games this season for the Hawks and averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds, 4.4 steals and 3.6 assists per game. She finished #2 in the Nation in Total Steals (145) and 4th in Steals Per Game (4.4) and broke the Holy Names Single Season records for Steals (145) and Made Free Throws (122). Her 120 assists also mark the 10th highest single season total in school history. Vodicska is just the 8th player in program history to be named an NAIA All-American and first since Angela Zanini in 2003 to be named to the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd teams.
