One week after defending their 2008-2009 title at the CSU San Marcos Invitational, HNU confidently looked to take the top spot at the Arizona Intercollegiate hosted by Southern Nazarene University. 

The field consisted of 7 of the top 25 teams in the country, including No. 1 ranked Oklahoma City University. The Hawks finished the 54-hole event shooting 879 (+15) at the par-72 Francisco Grande Golf Course, which tied them for first place with No. 11 Oklahoma Christian University. Cal Baptist finished 1 shot back in 33rd place, followed by 4th place finisher Lubbock Christian. Oklahoma City rounded out the top 5 finishing 8 shots back.


Individually, Stephan Edman finished 2nd with a three day total of 212 (71-70-71). He led the field in par 4 scoring and was second in par 5 scoring. . Garrett True (76-71-76) finished in a tie for 20th place, followed by Daren Johnson who finished in a tie for 22nd place (72-73-79). Austin Fink (77-76-74) and Patrick Byrne (76-70-81) finished in a tie for 32nd place. Statistically, the Hawks lead the field in Par 5 scoring and total eagles (4), fourth in par 3 (+18) and par 4 (+34) scoring.

The Hawks will look to win their 7th event of the season next week when they head to Auburn to play in a conference tournament hosted by William Jessup University.
