Oakland, CA - The Holy Names University Men's Volleyball program has released its 2010 game schedule. The Hawks finished the year 0-14 with limited home games and most game being played on the road. With most of their games on the road again this year they look to redeem themselves from last year's disappointing year.
This year the Hawks open up the season at home this Friday, January 22, 2010 in a two day game against the Red Hawks of Simpson University. This is the first season the Red Hawks have a men's team, so it will be interesting to see the Red Hawks in action.

HNU then travels to St. Charles, Missouri to take on last year national champs Lindenwood University in their annual tournament. The Hawks will open up with the national champs at 3pm on the 29th of January. The Lions finished the year last year on a 36 game winning streak and sweep #1 California Baptist University to win their first ever national championship.

Later that evening HNU will take on Missouri Baptist College at 7pm. The Spartans finished last year with a 13-19 record and placed 10th in the last national poll of the season.

On the 30th of January the Hawks will take on Clarke College in a 9am match-up. The Crusaders finished last year with an 8-17 record.

The Hawks finish off the Linden Tournament against Graceland University. The Jackets finished last year 13-9.

Once the Hawks return they will take on #1 ranked California Baptist University in Riverside, CA on the 26th of March at 3pm. They will also take on Cardinal Stritch University on the 27th on the campus of California Baptist University.

The Hawks will finish the year against NCAA Div III UC Santa Cruz in a triple header. Two games will be played at Santa Cruz and one game at home. With only two year of existence the Hawks look to put a mark on this third year.

With great competition ahead of them playing #1 and #2 and a team that only lost one last year, they will look to do so with a mature group of athletes.
