Hawks do not show up!
Portland, OR - After pulling out a victory on the road on Saturday, tonight the Hawks reverted and seemed content with the win. Hawks give up 28 points on uncontested lay-ups and lose to Concordia 91-78.
It was a tough night tonight for the Hawks. After giving up their body 17 times on Saturday, tonight the Hawks were out of touch. In the first half the Hawks gave up 20 of the 44 points on pure uncontested layups and only saw themselves down four at half.

In the second half the Cavaliers jump out to a 10-0 run and go up 40-54. The Hawks would fight back, but only found themselves exchanging baskets. The Hawks could not get enough stops to make a run and found themselves in an up-hill battle the whole second half. With 7 minutes left in the second half the Hawks would cut it to 7 (79-72), but would find themselves committing to many errors in the last stretch of the game. From missed charges, to reach in calls, to putting the Cavaliers at the line, the Hawks made it hard on themselves to make any kind of run.  So far this year the Hawks have given up 91 pts/g and only manage to score 78.

For the game the Cavaliers shot 61% (33-54) from the field, 38% (7-18) from the arch and 75% (18-24) from the line. The Hawks were 35% (28-79) from the field, 29% (9-31) from the arch and 81% (13-16) from the line.

The Cavaliers who on the night had four guys in double figures were led by Alex Thiefenthaler who on the night had a double-double with 29 points and 13 rebound.

The Hawks were led once again by junior David Scott with 23 points. Also chipping in was sophomore Zac Sewtisky and junior Johnas Street who had 17 and 15 points respectively. Johnas also led the Hawks with 9 rebounds.

With the lose the Hawks drop to 1-6 on the year.

It does not get any easier for the Hawks as they host two tough teams in their annual Thanksgiving Tournament on November 27th and 28th. They open up with John Brown University on the 27th at 8pm and Warner Pacific University on the 28th at 8pm as well.

Come out and support your Hawks!
